Attending weekend worship services is an essential part of growing and being a healthy part of the church. Here are some things that will help you make the most of our services:Music – We believe that God teaches us through the sung as well as the spoken word. Therefore, you will find that our music talks a lot about God's deep love, forgiveness and His other great qualities. Some of the ideas expressed in the songs might be hard to understand at first, but we are confident that they will mean more to you as you learn more about God. Our music style is fairly contemporary but we try to make it accessible to people with varying preferences, selecting songs based upon their quality, not whether they are old or new. We welcome you to worship expressively (hands raised, eyes closed, clapping, etc.) if you feel like it. Preaching – God wants us to preach and teach His Word publicly when we meet together. Our preaching usually focuses on explaining and applying the day’s text from the Bible. We generally work through a book of the Bible in a way that includes all verses. This ensures that we do not overlook challenging or unappealing texts. Topical sermons or series are employed on occasion to address specific issues. If you miss a sermon, be sure to listen on-line (click here to find out more) or get a sermon CD in the lobby.Prayer - we ask God to move powerfully when we gather as a church, so we saturate our services with prayer. We even have people praying in another room during the service.Scripture – we believe that God speaks through His word, so we try to incorporate as much Scripture as possible in our services. We encourage people to bring their own Bibles to church, but we have Bibles in the seats in case you forget or don't have a Bible. If you don't own a Bible, let us know - we'll give you one for free.
