Ministries (like MOPS!)
What is MOPS?
MOPS meets at 9-11 AM and 6:30-8 PM on the the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, at Bethel Baptist Church. Park play dates at Hillcrest park every Wednesday in the summer, 10am-noon.
MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers”, but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting needs, making connections, and experiencing God’s love through relationships and resources for moms of infants through kindergarten. We are a charter of MOPS International who believes that “mothering matters” (click here to view their web-site).
When does MOPS meet?
We have formal meetings the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month, September through May, from 9-11:00 AM.Evening MOPS meets the the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm at Bethel Baptist Church. All events are held in the Bethel Events Center.
What about childcare?
This is called MOPPETS, and our local program is blessed with a group of volunteer childcare workers that care for our children during our daytime MOPs meetings.
What do you do at MOPS?
MOPS meetings generally include socializing, learning from “mentor moms” (moms of older children), listening to speakers or DVD’s that address various needs of moms, and discussion. We also do service projects, crafts, and have various “Moms Night Out” events during the year. We follow the purpose statement of MOPS International: MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ.
