Our mission is to encourage and equip moms of young children to realize their potential as a mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus, and in partnership with the local church.
MOPS is an acronym, standing for "Mothers of Preschoolers," and is a program designed to meet the needs of mothers of children ages birth through kindergarten. Bethel Baptist church is a charter member of MOPS International, whose mission is to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of a preschool to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. Our organization is a non-denominational group that includes mothers from across the communities and congregations surrounding the Brookings, SD area.
When does MOPS meet?
We have formal meetings on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, September through May, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church.
All events are held in the Bethel Events Center.
What about childcare?
Our childcare program is called MOPPETS, and our local chapter is blessed with a group of volunteer workers who will lovingly care for your children while you spend time connecting with other moms in MOPS.
What do you do at MOPS?
MOPS meetings generally include socializing, learning from "mentor moms"—moms who now have older children—listening to speakers who address various needs moms have, and discussion over presented content. We also do service projects, crafts, and have various "Mom's Night Out" events throughout the year.
