What to expect at Bethel

Visiting a church can be intimidating, especially if you don't know what to expect. You may have questions like, "How long do services last?" or, "Where do I sit?" or even, "What should I wear?" At Bethel Baptist Church, you can expect warm and welcoming people, sincere worship and praise, and engaging preaching from the Scripture. Wear whatever makes you comfortable; you will find a range of styles here! We hope you will be encouraged, perhaps even challenged. But most of all, we hope you have an encounter with Jesus Christ.

Arriving at Bethel

Once you arrive, you will be greeted at the door by a member of our Connections Team. They will show you around and answer any questions you might have.

If you have young children with you, please ask to meet with our nursery coordinator: they will help check your children into either the Nursery or our Children's Church. While in childcare, your children will be tended to by our team of volunteers, all of whom have been trained and screened.

If you are visiting with us for the first time, we encourage you to visit our Welcome Desk in the foyer. While there, you will receive a small gift as a sign of our appreciation for your visit! It is at the Welcome Desk too, where you can speak more with someone from our Connections Team about next steps in getting connected here at Bethel.

Worship Service

Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 AM, and typically runs 75 minutes in length.

Our worship style is a combination of contemporary and traditional. On a given Sunday morning, you can sing traditional and modern hymns, hear preaching from Scripture applied to day-to-day life, and witness a diversity of peoples all praising God.

At Bethel, we value the Bible and its entire witness, and we believe it to be God's inspired word. As a result, we believe it is important to preach from the Bible every Sunday. God wants His people to be taught from His word, publicly, when they meet together.

Preaching at Bethel generally focuses on explaining a given text in a clear, understandable way, while applying its truths to our daily lives. We occasionally preach topically, but more often, we preach through entire books of the Bible in such a way that includes every verse. This ensures that we do not overlook challenging texts or topics. But most importantly, we preach Jesus Christ crucified, believing that all the Bible testifies to the work He has done and continues to do in redeeming His creation.

We encourage you to come as you are, understanding that we are all broken and in need of Jesus. So, wear whatever is comfortable for you; be as expressive as you like; most importantly, come expecting to encounter Jesus.
